Martin Ruman in one of the most prominent slovak viola players and teachers. He is the solo viola player of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra and professor at the Conservatory of Bratislava. As a soloist he played with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, Slovak Chamber Orchestra, Capella Istropolitana and other orchestras under the baton of James Judd or Rastislav Štúr. He regulargly plays recitals with pianist Alena Hučková, they premiered together many contenporary pieces and recorded two CDs. Martin also plays baroque viola and viola d’amore. In his free time he loves literature, philosophy and hiking.
